only international institution provide training for diplomats
and peacekeepers. The Academy also has a research program that
focuses on crucial issues relating to preventive diplomacy, peacebuilding,

of Zagreb, combining this with work with a number of local NGOs
in Croatia. From 1990-1993 he was Lecturer in Social Work at Bradford
University, UK. His interests are anti-racist social work; identities
and nationalism in Eastern Europe; and inter-agency working. Baljit
Soroya is Senior Lecturer in Social Work at Leeds Metropolitan
University, UK. His main interests are racism and nationalism,
